This workshop is an introduction to movement and dance therapy. During the one-hour workshop, you will have the opportunity to discover what dance therapy is, its approach, its basic principles, and the benefits of practicing it. You will also be invited to engage physically, psychologically, and emotionally through guided experiential exercises to better understand this holistic, creative, and relational approach.

Before turning to dance as a therapeutic practice, Émilie was a soloist with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, then a teacher and rehearsal director for over 16 years old. Emilie's therapeutic approach integrates humanistic, feminist, person-centered, and trauma-informed perspectives. She works in psychiatric hospital settings, with children and youth in specialized schools, and in community mental health services for adults. A spokesperson for arts therapies in Canada, Emilie is a board member of the Arts Therapies section of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and the Quebec Network of Arts Therapies (RQTA).
