André Santos
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Brazil, started dancing at the age of nine and taking his first ballet class at 11 years old. André was a finalist at the Youth America Grand Prix in New York City in 2007, receiving a full-time scholarship to the New Zealand School of Dance in Wellington, New Zealand subsequently graduating in 2009.
In January 2010, André became a member of the West Australian Ballet in Perth, Western Australia, at the time under the direction of Ivan Cavallari and most recently Aurelien Scanella. Whilst in Australia, André was promoted to Demi-Soloist and Soloist the following year.
During his 7 years period at the West Australian Ballet, he performed repertoire by world renowed classical and contemporary choreographers such as Uwe Scholz, Jiri Kylian, John Cranko, Marcia Haydée, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Glen Tetley, David Dawson, Eric Gauthier and more. André joined Les Grands Ballet Canadiens in 2017 where he remains as a full-time dancer.
