Embark on an immersive journey into the work of Parts+Labour_Danse’s co-artistic directors and choreographers, David Albert-Toth and Emily Gualtieri. This creation lab offers a rare glimpse into their highly collaborative process, inviting participants to delve into new interpretations of ideas while tapping into the depths of their physicality, voices, memories, and resilience. Guided by David and Emily, participants will navigate a rich landscape of creation tools, designed to ignite creativity and foster artistic expression, from improvisational games to tailored repertoire sourced from their works, that draw deep connections between the body’s physicality and somatic state research.

Their enduring fascination with metamorphosis fuels their artistic pursuits, while they resolutely redefine collaborative partnerships in diverse creative fields. Using a unique call-and-response approach, these choreographers have created a distinct movement vocabulary, placing performers at the crossroads of scripted precision and spontaneous expression. Their physically dynamic performances defy conventional theatrical boundaries, inviting audiences on unexpected journeys through unexplored emotions and narratives.
