Classes de maître - Ballet
“My main goal as a teacher is to try to create an atmosphere where the dancers can discover their bodies, are challenged, improve their technique, and most importantly are inspired. I leave space for internal awareness but at the same time encourage expression and artistry.”
Robin is originally from Portland, Oregon. She trained with Scholarships at Oregon Ballet Theatre School, Cleveland Ballet School and The Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida. She then moved to New York City to attend The Juilliard School, where she received a BFA in dance. While at Juilliard she was mentioned in the New York Times as the "small blonde dynamo" in Lila York's Rapture. After receiving her degree, she had a long dancing career with renowned companies such as Ballet Tech in New York City and Les Ballet Jazz de Montréal before dancing as a soloist with Les Grands Ballets for 10 years. At Les Grands Ballet Robin danced and or worked with many world-renowned choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, George Balanchine, and Nacho Duato. Some of the key roles she danced were Aurora in Mats Ek’s Sleeping Beauty, Passomezzo in Ohad Naharin's Minus One, and the nurse in Jean-Christophe Maillot's Romeo and Juliet. Her performance in Cantata choreographed by Mauro Bigonzetti was awarded an honorable mention in Pointe Magazine’s article titled Standouts in 2009.
Robin received her teaching certificate with honours from l’École supérieure de ballet du Québec, where she also teaches. She has taught ballet from the beginner to professional level all around the province of Quebec.
