The aim of this class is to practice concepts and movement mechanics that deal with approaching unrestricted floor movement. We will focus on harnessing the momentum of our many surface points exchanging momentum with the floor. This class is open to dancers from any movement background looking to diversify their approaches to the floor!

Biography :

Dana Pajarillaga, a native of Washington D.C., graduated from The Juilliard School on scholarship in 2017. While at Juilliard, she performed works by José Limón, Merce Cunningham, Jerome Robbins, and Nacho Duato. In 2016, Dana was the recipient of the Dizzy Feet Foundation Scholarship. In previous years, she trained at the CityDance Conservatory in Bethesda, MD, under the direction of Lorraine Spiegler, and was a part of an Urban Dance Troupe called Future Shock DC. Additional programs she has attended include The School at Jacob’s Pillow, Cunningham Repertory Workshops, Springboard Dance Montreal, and Transformation Danse performing works by Victor Quijada, Andrea Pena, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Emily Molnar, Brian Brooks, and James O’Hara. She has also worked with Christoph Winkler in Berlin last winter. During this summer, Dana performed with PrioreDance at Jacob’s Pillow and Jasmine Ellis at Springboard Danse Montreal.  Dana has been a company member of RUBBERBANDance Group in Montreal since 2017.
